CKC Field Dog Tests for Pointing Breeds
What are Field Dog Tests?
Field dog tests are non-competitive CKC events intended to evaluate a pointing dog’s hunting ability. A dog’s performance in the field is scored by a judge according to a standard provided by the CKC. The testing procedure evaluates different aspects of a dog’s hunting skills for which it receives a score in each category.
All dogs are handled on foot although the judges may be on horseback.. Each dog must locate game and establish a point.
