Penny was a little mahogany and white pup out of Doug Sieckmeyer's Penny and Aux- Arc's Mark. Marc Appleton and Lyle Johnson picked her out of the litter for me and Doug kept her until we could get to Nebraska to pick her up.

By the time we got there, Doug had her pointing and sometimes retrieving quail from thick grass. She was always broke on quail, but in her mind pheasants were for chasing, catching and burying until we were able to convince her otherwise. This made for some interesting trials!
Penny was handled to her AKC FC by Marc Appleton in part of two field trial seasons. Marc won a lot of Gun Dog stakes with her, and told me once that the only thing wrong with Penny was " she lived in Canada".
Penny was CKC All Breed Pointing Dog of the year in 1999 with 312 points, the most points by any Brittany to that date.
She was a wonderful mother to her two litters of mahogany and white pups, and a loving pet for our family.
Exciting to watch either trialing or hunting, "she was a good one in her day."
